New Liverpool signing Iago Aspas has praised the Premier League, telling reporters that he would recommend England’s top flight division to any player. The Spanish forward is enjoying life with the Reds after signing with the club for £9 million this summer from La Liga side Celta. Aspas has started every Premier League match so far under manager Brendan Rodgers and although he is yet to score for the club, the Spaniard is happy to be at the top of the table.
“I would tell any player to go to the Premier League,” he said over the international break, according to Goal.com.
“You get a different feeling – especially compared to Spain. I’m playing a bit further back that it did at Celta, but the big difference is how physical the league is compared to Spain. It’s hard to say which is better, but when the season ends and I have played all the teams I will have a better idea.
“I’m very happy. Especially because we are leading the league. (But) it’s only been three games, and it’s a very long competition.”
Liverpool have played extremely well in the Premier League this season as they have yet to concede a goal in all three matches. New players Kolo Toure and Simon Mignolet have led a defensive unit that has looked incredibly difficult to break, denying current title holders Manchester United any goals in Liverpool’s 1-0 victory this past Sunday. The club hasn’t been at a loss for goals either as Daniel Sturridge has been sensational, scoring all three match-winners in their league wins and scoring twice in the club’s Capital One Cup victory over Notts County.
Liverpool will head to South Wales to face off against Swansea in their next Premier League match on Monday, September 16th. Liverpool will be the favorites in the match as Swansea have not won at home in their last six Premier League matches, losing four times in the process.
