Arsenal and Liverpool are both reported to be targeting Arda Turan, with the Turkey international’s agent saying he will probably move to the Premier League before the end of the transfer window.
Chelsea were linked with Arda earlier this summer, but Arsene Wenger and Brendan Rodgers are now the frontrunners for his signature. And his agent expects a deal to be done before transfer deadline day.
According to reports in Spain, the Atletico Madrid winger’s agent Ahmet Bulut told NTV Spor: “The transfer of Arda to the Premier League this summer is likely.
“In England is where most interest in him is and they know well the position of Athletic. They know that the Madrid club are rejecting all offers for him, but that if they pay the clause there is nothing they can do.
“There have been contacts.”
The 26-year-old has a £20m buy-out clause in his contract. A big at that level would force Atletico to sell.
Monaco are also reportedly interested, while Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim thinks Arda is determined to return to Turkey.
He told the Turkish media: “I talked to him for two hours after Turkey-Ghana friendly and told me that his desire is to return to Galatasaray and he is doing everything he can to return.”
