Liverpool morning news: England need 'half a dozen' Gerrards; Molby on Suarez

Steven Gerrard Celebrates
A select round-up of news relating to Liverpool, including Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard.
What does it take to qualify for a World Cup? According to England coach Roy Hodgson it takes “half a dozen” Steven Gerrards.
As it is he can only call on one, but as England prepare to face Ukraine on Tuesday in match that could determine how they spend next summer, Hodgson has called on his players to perform like the Liverpoolcaptain.

In something of an England love-in, Gerrard has also been having his say about one of his teammates, hailing Frank Lampard as the Chelsea midfielder prepares to get his 100th cap next week.
Speaking of the midfielder’s fantastic game against Moldova on Friday, Hodgson said, “Look at the quality of Gerrard’s performance. If we can get half a dozen of the team playing at that level it will have to be a good team to beat us.”
Hopefully I am on the pitch when he does get his 100th cap and I can share the moment with him because I have been with him all the way through,” Gerrard told reporters. “He’s a good friend of mine, I can’t wait for him to get it.”
From current Reds to former ones: with Jan Molby again getting the headlines, this time for his opinion on Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan striker is due back from his domestic suspension at the end of the month, and the Daily Star has published quotes from Molby on the potential impact he can have.
With Suarez’s goals, Liverpool should be very, very close to the top four,” he said.
The way they have started the season, you wonder how easy it will be for him to get back into the team.
