Liverpool FC reject bid for Skrtel

Liverpool FC have rejected a 12 million euro bid from Napoli for Martin Skrtel.

The bid by former boss Rafa Benitez would have led to a reunion between Benitez and the player he signed for Liverpool in 2008.

However, Brendan Rodgers see Skrtel as a key squad member and does not believe that it is in the interest of the club to sell. It is now unlikely, given the still close relationship between Benitez and his former club, that Napoli will return with a second bid.

Skrtel himself has declared that he is still very content at Anfield.
