Evans surprised by Rodgers’ demand of Suarez

Football correspondent for The Times, Tony Evans, joins Sam Matterface to share his thoughts on the Luis Suarez transfer saga that has dominated the headlines this summer.
Evans says he was surprised by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’ demand of an apology from the forward, adding that if the club truly want Suarez to stay they need to patch up the rift behind closed doors and move forward.
He also adds that he agrees with Rodgers' stance that no player is bigger than the club, and encourages Suarez to show more loyalty to Liverpool, especially given the support they and the fans have given him during his time in Merseyside.
The sports writer also discusses the latest news regarding Stewart Downing’s future at the club, revealing that the underperforming winger is very close to a move away from Anfield.
