Cardiff City have missed out on Momo Sissoko after failing to agree terms with the former Liverpool midfielder, according to sources in France.
The 28-year-old is surplus to requirements at Paris Saint-Germain and has been informed he is free to leave the French capital.
Stoke are also monitoring him but Cardiff made the first move.
However, Malky Mackay's side did not reach an agreement with the Mali international and he will now look to continue his career elsewhere.
