Ajax have confirmed they have rejected a bid from Atletico Madrid for Toby Alderweireld.
The defender is on the radar of a string of Premier League clubs, withLiverpool the latest to be linked.
Director Marc Overmars said: "We have rejected the offer from Atletico Madrid for Toby Alderweireld.
"We were contacted this weekend but it was not considered sufficient for our player."
The bid has not been disclosed but it is understood that Ajax are holding out for close to £10m.
