Liverpool Face Competition From AC Milan To Sign Sakho

Liverpool Face Competition From AC Milan To Sign Sakho

AC Milan have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Sakho, it has been reported.

Liverpool have been interested in the defender for a long time and according to the Daily Star, made an £8 million bid for the Paris Saint Germain player earlier in August.

However, it is reported in the same article that Italian giants AC Milan have joined the race to sign the defender who is apparently unhappy at the lack of guarantee of a first team place from new manager Lauren Blanc.

The article further reveals that the lack of guarantees from Blanc led Sakho to hand in a transfer request last week.

Rodgers is reported to be interested in bringing the defender to Liverpool as the futures of current centre backs Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel are uncertain.

The article claims that Milan are hoping to sign the player on a season-long-loan with an option for a permanent move which may persuade PSG to let Sakho leave this summer.

On the other hand Liverpool apparently wants the defender on a permanent deal.

The article also reveals that Sakho is desperate to leave as he wants regular first team football so he is selected for France’s World Cup squad.

Sakho has so far won 14 caps for his country and is hopeful of building on that before the World Cup.
